A relief fund has been started by Company 5 Forest for Jay Mason who was involved in a serious MVA just over a week ago. Thirty year-old Jay Mason who has been a Company 5 firefighter for ten years had been traveling on Thomas Jefferson Road when he apparently ran out of the roadway and over corrected. Jay sustained severe injuries to the head and was airlifted to the University of Virginias trauma center where he remains in serious but stable condition. Jay has no medical insurance to help cover the overwhelming cost of medical treatment that continues to rise each day. Please send donations to Jay Mason Fund P.O. Box 140 Forest Virginia 24551. Any questions about the fund or about Jays progress or can be directed to Chief Monty Coleman Forest 434-525-7258 or Asst. Chief Todd Styles 434-525-4044.
