1951hrs- Bedford Communications alerted Companies 9 (Montvale-1st due), 19 (Shady Grove-2nd due), and 1 (Bedford-RIT) to 2040 Pike Road for a reported structure fire. Chief 9 (Hawkins) was first to arrive to find fire showing from a two-story wood frame private dwelling. A slow response from the 2nd due added Rescue 13 to cover RIT to allow R-1 to go to work once on scene. Rescue 1 (with six) assisted E-9 and W-9 with fire attack making a quick knock down to hold the fire to two rooms. Units operating: E-9, W-9, T-9, R-1, U-9, P-9, R-13, T-19, and Medic 9.
