Friday, February 12, 2010 - 0849hrs- Companies 1 (Bedford-1st due), 8 (Moneta-2nd due), and 5 (Forest-RIT) were dispatched to 420 West King Street for a reported grease fire. Engine 1 (with three) arrived at 0853hrs to find a single-story wood frame private dwelling with moderate some showing from side A. E-1's officer and nozzleman stretched a line into the interior and quickly located and knocked down a small kitchen fire. Ladder 1 (with six) arrived, assumed command (AC Stevens), and began ventilation and the search. With all occupants out of the house, Ladder 1 assumed Overhaul Group and began checking for extension in the attic and walls. All checks for extension proved negative which led to command releasing all companies not on scene to service. Engine 1 and Ladder 1 returned to service at 0940hrs.
