Saturday, January 16, 2010 - The Bedford Fire Department held its 102nd Annual Awards Banquet Saturday night at the Bedford Welcome Center with 91 members and guest in attendance. Fittingly, "Making Tracks"; which is the Olde Liberty Station Restaurant's catering service, catered the event including hors doeuvres and a main course with desert. After dinner, guests moved into the presentation room for special presentations, years of service awards, and the much anticipated Probationary Firefighter of the Year and Firefighter of the Year awards. Voted on by their peers, this years Rookie of the Year resulted in a tie that went to both Ryan "Sweats" King and John "Goo" Gulatsi. The Company's prestigious Firefighter of the Year was awarded to Matt "Hops" Scott who not only ran 556 runs throughout the year but also served on numerous committees and held the office of Secretary. Congratulations to everyone on another successful year in the books.
